US FLIGHTNET serves as the central information clearinghouse which allows participating air charter companies to list available flights. US FLIGHTNET is in constant contact with participating charter companies to constantly update the flight availability files. Because of the nature of aircraft charter, flights are constantly changing and therefore, so are the flight availability files.
When an individual reviews the flight availability files, they look for flights which might interest them. These flights are arranged by date and sorted by destination and also by origin. An important point to remember is that these flights are flexible. For example, a flight going from Detroit to Miami might be able to pick up someone in Cleveland and go to Atlanta. Obviously, the costs change due to the extra stops and additional mileage, but it might be an option.
US FLIGHTNET must be contacted to arrange any flights since the details must be arranged and to make certain that the flight data has not changed. Details must be worked out with the charter company regarding cost, pick-up points, payment method, passenger contact and any other important details. In most cases, the charter company contacts the passengers directly to arrange final details.
If a flight is not available, a flight request can be made. This is a request for travel on a certain day with an anticipated itinerary. US FLIGHTNET maintains this request in a flight request file. If matches of available flights and member requests are found, USFLIGHTNET would contact the member to determine if the flight is of interest. US FLIGHTNET again would need to arrange the flight with the charter company and contact the passengers.
Travellers must be US FLIGHTNET members or referred through current members. US FLIGHTNET maintains contact and billing information for each member to resolve any payment issues. Non members can become members by telephoning our offices for rapid enrollment. In most cases, enrollment can be completed within a short time.
One important point must be made. US FLIGHTNET is not the operator of the flights and complete control rests with the charter operator. US FLIGHTNET simply serves as the clearinghouse for flight information and the coordinator of the flights.
